چکیده

Abstract Aim To investigate the predictors and timing of recurrence after curative resection for pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PDAC). Method Consecutive patients who underwent PDAC (2011-21) consented to data tissue collection, were followed up prospectively in a single institution. Clinico-pathological variables analysed using Cox proportional hazards model. Results 91 (median age 71 years (range 43 – 86)) had median follow-up 51 (95% CI 40–61) months. 66 (72.5%) experienced (12 locoregional, 11 liver, 5 lung, 3 peritoneal, 29 simultaneous locoregional distant 6 multi-focal distant). Median time was 8.5 6.6-10.5) months survival 5.8 4.2-7.3) Stratification by location revealed no significant differences (p = 0.24). Significant any lymph node ratio ≥0.33 0.005, HR 2.8, 95% 1.4 5.8), adjuvant chemotherapy 0.002, 0.4, 0.2 0.7) systemic inflammation score ≥500 0.01, 4.5, 14.3). Conclusions Lymph ratio, PDAC: this needs validation large national cohorts.

Predictors of Recurrence after Thymoma Resection

PURPOSE Recurrence rate is considered a better measure of clinical outcomes after thymoma resection than overall survival due to the indolent behavior of thymomas. This study was designed to determine predictors of recurrence after thymoma resection. MATERIALS AND METHODS A single-institution, retrospective study was performed, including 305 patients who had undergone thymoma resection betwee...

The patient is a 57-year old Caucasian female who presented with right upper quadrant pain and obstructive jaundice and was diagnosed with resectable pancreatic cancer. She underwent pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) after preoperative biliary stenting. She subsequently presented to the clinic, where it was noticed that she had an elevated CA 19-9. CT C/A/P revealed multiple new liver lesions.

Biomarkers as Predictors of Recurrence following Curative Resection for Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma: A Review

Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDA) is the fourth most common cancer causing death in the United States. Early tumor recurrence is an important contributor to the dismal prognosis. The availability of an accurate prognostic biomarker for predicting disease recurrence following curative resection will be beneficial for patient care. Most of the currently studied biomarkers remain in the inves...

Adenocarcinoma of the ampulla of Vater: predictors of survival and recurrence after curative radical resection

BACKGROUNDS/AIMS Because of low incidence rates, there have been few reports on the patterns of and risk factors for recurrence after curative resection of the ampulla of Vater (AoV) cancer. The aim of this study was to characterize patterns of recurrence and to evaluate risk factors affecting survival rates and recurrence after curative resection. METHODS Medical records of 181 patients who ...

[Role of surgical resection in treatment of pancreatic adenocarcinoma].

INTRODUCTION Pancreatic adenocarcinoma is the fifth leading cause of death from malignant diseases. The total five-year rate is bellow 5%, but in patients who underwent pancreatic resection, the five-year rate may be up to 20%. Surgical resection is still the only therapeutic option that offers the possibility of cure. In recent decades, the perioperative mortality rate has been significantly r...
